Exon 2 was flanked by loxP sites. This exon encodes part of the secretion signal sequence as well as much of the extracellular immunoglobulin-like domain 1. Deletion of this exon results in a frame shift and premature termination. A frt-flanked neo was included in the vector. (J:121400)
