A betageo fusion protein was inserted in frame into the ORF. The targeted locus produced a fusion protein consisting of the first 50 amino acids from the endogenous protein, excluding the HMG box, followed by ten amino acids encoded by a synthetic linker sequence and the betageo sequence. Wild-type protein was not detected in mutants. (J:99610)
