这个转基因是通过将L7-deltaAUG启动子增强子（来自L7-deltaAUG载体，其中所有上游的ATG已被突变）置于pSP-13Cre质粒的cre基因之前构建的。L7/Pcp2修改后的启动子能特异性驱动位于其下游基因的表达，但翻译仅从promoter下游cre基因的ATG开始，从而在小脑齿状核细胞中特异性表达cre蛋白。（注意：GFP转基因与Tg(Pcp2-cre)1Amc基因整合，因此GFP在小脑中的表达有所报道[个人交流]（J:92189, J:96313））
