Targeting constructs for the Hoxc-4 and Hoxc-13 genes were used to put loxP sites into a targeting vector. After electroporation of CCE ES cells with the targeting vector, homologous recombination produced doubly-targeted ES cells. Following introduction of a Cre expressing plasmid, deletion of 130 kb encompassing the Hoxc gene cluster resulted. (J:61710)
