A 3.3 kb fragment including exon 1 and the 5' upstream region was replaced via homologous recombination with a loxP site, partial Hprt gene and neomycin gene. Northern blot analysis did not detect any mRNA; however, expression of other casein genes is similar to wild-type. (J:110223)
