This transgene contains a constitutively active mouse Akt1, in which critical residues (T308D/S473D) for activation of Akt1 are replaced by negatively charged amino acids, under the control of the mouse alpha-myosin heavy chain. There is about 400 times more transgene product than endogenous Akt1 in cardiac tissue. (J:75780)
