The EGFP gene replaced most of the coding region of the alternative first exon. A translational stop cassette ws inserted downstream of EGFP. In situ hybridization confirmed the absence of expression in mutant testis. Wesetern blot failed to detect the nuclear protein form in mutants. (J:100525)
