Cre重组酶受一个954bp高度保守的、在所有骨骼肌中都活跃的启动子控制。八个创始系中，当与R26R报告小鼠杂交时，五条产生了重组。在E11.5时，3个系（44K、441G和453G）在骨骼肌中表现出强烈的Cre活性。此处创建的系代表441G系。（来源：J:99340）
