The gene trap vector inserted into an intron of the locus and resulted in alternative splicing to a cryptic 3' splice site located in the neo, creating a hypomorphic allele. The expected transcript would be 503 nt long, however, RT-PCR demonstrated that the major PCR product was only 93 nt long and did not hybridize to a U3 probe. (J:98861, J:151685)
