A floxed neomycin selection cassette was inserted 5' to exon 1 and a third loxP site was inserted in intron 1. Subsequent mating to mice carrying a cre expressing transgene resulted in excision of both the neo selection cassette and exon 1. QPCR and Northern blot analysis confirmed the absence of transcription. (J:119526)
