Leprtm1.1Chua mice crossed with Cre transgenic mice created this allele in which exon 17 is excised. The predicted result is a truncated receptor protein for all isoforms, with a frameshift in the 3' end of exon 16, thus causing a Lepr-B terminal exon consisting of 14 amino acids and a premature stop codon. RT-PCR confirmed the deletion. (J:94019)
