A targeting vector was designed replace the WM residues with AA residues in the hexapeptide sequence of the endogenous locus. Crossing with ubiquitously expressing Cre mice excised a floxed neo that was also introduced by the vector. Neither the expression level nor the stability of the protein was altered. (J:93020)
