Exon 1 was flanked by single loxP sites and subsequently excised via cre mediated recombination, leaving a single loxP site in place of exon 1. Transcript was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by RT-PCR analysis of pancreatic RNA. Western blot analysis indicated an absence of protein. (J:52933)
