Three exons containing kinase domains VIb - X were replaced with a floxed PGK neomycin gene. The PGK neomicin gene was then removed by cre excision from mice heterozygous for this allele. mRNA transcripts were 404 bp shorter than wild-type. No protein product was detectable by Western blot.
