A genomic fragment containing part of exon 2, exons 3 and 4 and part of exon 5 was replaced with an in-frame lacZ gene and a neomycin selection cassette. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that no detectable transcript is expressed from this allele, and Western blot analysis confirmed that no detectable protein is made from this allele. (J:78197)
