The endogenous locus was disrupted by the removal of a genomic fragment extending from within exon 6 into intron 33 (~9 kb). The deletion removed sequence encoding both the neural and non-neural isoforms. Protein was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by immunohistochemical and Western blot analyses. (J:83827)
