The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 1 with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. The gene targeting event results in deletion of the first 54 amino acids and a frameshift of the remaining sequence. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. (J:51563)
