Tg(APOA4)8018Feb

The transgene construct comprises the human APOA4 gene with ~7 kb of 5'- and 6 kb of 3'- flanking genomic DNA. This transgenic line was estimated by densitrometric Southern blot analysis to carry ~9 copies of the construct. Human APOA4 protein was detected in plasma of these mice at ~11 times the level in human plasma. Like the endogenous transcript, transgene-derived human Apoa4 mRNA was present at significant levels in liver and at much higher levels in intestine. (J:82359)
