A loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette was inserted into intron 3 and a single loxP site was inserted into intron 5. Activity and protein mass assays on protein derived from kidney and liver of fasted homozygous mice demonstrated that this allele behaves as a hypomorph, retaining about 10-20% of normal activity.
