The transgene consists of a human UBC promoter (including exon 1 and intron 1), a 579 bp human CGB cDNA fragment, and a bovine growth hormone polyadenylation signal. Transgene expression was confirmed by RT-PCR and immunohistochemical analysis in several tissues, including the ovary, pituitary gland, liver, kidney, uterus, and testis. Serum of transgenic female animals showeda 40-fold increase in enzyme activity compare to wild-type females. (J:79060)
