Exon 2 was disrupted by the insertion of a neomycin selection cassette such that translation would produce a protein containing 80 amino terminal residues as well as 5 residues derived from linker sequence. RT-PCR indicated that normal transcript was absent in homozygous mutant embryos. (J:56678)
