RIZ1蛋白产物在编码PR域（PR domain）的第5外显子中心插入了抗氨苄青霉素抗性基因元件后被干扰。编码RIZ2蛋白的序列（RIZ2 protein），从第6外显子开始转录，基因靶向事件并未影响其。通过Northern blot分析成年鼠大脑RNA、Western blot检测成年睾丸蛋白以及RT-PCR研究，确实确认了纯合突变动物中RIZ1基因表达的缺失。（来源：J:71406）
