通过同源重组，部分exon 4到exon 6被一个无启动子的lacZ-neo cassette替换。使用全长cDNA探针对野生型动物大脑的Northern blot检测未发现基因表达。RT-PCR也未检测到基因转录。对大脑、视网膜和睾丸的蛋白质进行 Western blot分析确认了无基因型。(来源：J:61371)
