Lhx1^tm3.1Bhr

The neo cassette inserted into intron 1 of Lhxtm3Bhr was excised by breeding with CMV-cre transgenic mice. The four missense mutations affecting conserved cysteine residues in exons 1 and 2, encoding the two LIM domains, were left intact. The conservation of the endogenous expression pattern was verified by whole mount in situ hybridization of homozygous mutant embryos. RT-PCR and sequence analyses showed normal expression and the exclusive presence of the missense mutations. Finally, immunocytochemical analysis confirmed the presence of protein in mutant mice.
