A cassette containing nls-lacZ was inserted in frame into exon 2. While normal protein was undetected in homozygous mutant embryos at E13.5, approximately 5% of dorsal root ganglion neurons showed reactivity after E15. The authors believe the expression to be that of inactive protein lacking the activation domain. (J:78232)
