A 0.9 kb region of the gene encoding amino acids 1-1713 and containing the N-terminal zinc finger cluster was replaced with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Western blot analysis of T cells from homozygous mutant animals using monoclonal antibodies directed against amino acids 2287-2500 did not detect protein expression. (J:72249)
