在第13外显子的第403位，引入了一个Arg到Glu的突变型（R403Q），伴随着新霉素抗性基因和胸苷激酶基因，通过同源重组的方式。这种变异在人类中导致了严重形式的家族性肥厚性心肌病（FHC）。使用FIAU培养基来筛选出只带有R403Q突变，但没有新霉素和胸苷激酶基因的细胞。通过Southern blot和PCR基因型分析，我们识别出了纯合突变动物。来源：(J:32960)
