A transgene containing the BNLF-1 gene of the Epstein Barr Virus inserted into an intron of the Cask gene. The intron separates the exons encoding the calmodulin binding domain, a domain common to both isoforms of this gene. The open reading frame was unaffected by the introduction, allowing for the possibility of a hybrid protein. It is unknown whether the resulting phenotype results from a gain of function or loss of function mutation. (J:10591, J:50453)
