在同源重组中，Exons 2和3被替换了耐药性基因 neo，导致起始密码子和Dcx功能区域被删除。在纯合突变动物的视网膜中检测到了突变转录本。 Western blot和免疫荧光染色均未检测到野生型蛋白，但发现了一个微弱的、来自Exon 4的剪切片段信号。推测这个剪切蛋白可能源自Exon 4的替代起始翻译位点。(来源：J:76071)
