A neomycin selection cassette replaced 1.6 kb of DNA containing the transmembrane domain. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that at least 10-fold less transcript was produced from this allele that the wild-type. However, western blot analysis on cells derived from homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein was expressed from this allele. (J:62257)
