A neomycin resistance gene was inserted at codon 336 within exon 4 of the gene, resulting in a stop codon 21 nucleotides downstream. No transcript for the targeted gene was detected on Northern blots of RNA extracted from two double-targeted ES cell lines. No protein product for the targeted gene was detected on Western blots of protein extracted from two double-targeted ES cell lines. (J:44428)
