Part of exon 1, intron 1, exon 2, inton 2 and part of exon 3 were replaced by a PGK-neomycin cassette. Homozygous mutant female mice were analyzed by Northern and Western blotting to establish that the mRNA and protein were not present in growing oocytes. (J:56560)
