A neomycin resistance cassette replaced exon 5, which contains the transcriptional initiation codon and encodes the RING finger domain. RNAse protection assays demonstrated that a truncated transcript is produced from this allele in homozygous mice, but the authors predict that no functional protein can be translated. (J:33159)
