将新霉素抗性基因座插入Alox15基因的第3外显子导致了基因的插入突变。对同源纯合突变小鼠的腹腔巨噬细胞和骨髓来源巨噬细胞的Northern blot检测未发现转录本。而对同源突变小鼠的腹腔巨噬细胞进行 Western blot 分析，也未检测到ALOX15蛋白。(参考文献：J:44778)
