The molecular lesion is a TT insertion in exon 22. This introduces a frameshift in the encoded protein, resulting in an altered sequence of 45 amino acids at the C terminus, and a stop codon at residue 1287, resulting in the deletion of 98 amino acids from the C terminus of the mutant protein.
