Located in pericentric heterochromatin. Is expressed in early conceptus; eye; genitourinary system; hippocampus; and rib. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autistic disorder; breast cancer; carcinoma (multiple); head and neck cancer; and withdrawal disorder. Orthologous to human KDM4C (lysine demethylase 4C).
