淋巴毒素β是TNF家族的一种II型膜蛋白。它通过异源三聚体的形成将淋巴毒素α锚定在细胞表面。在淋巴细胞表面的主要形式是淋巴毒素α1/β2复合物(例如1个分子α/2个分子β),该复合物是淋巴毒素β受体的主要配体。次要复合物是淋巴毒素α2/β1。LTB是炎症反应系统的诱导剂,并涉及淋巴组织的正常发育。淋巴毒素β异构体b无法与淋巴毒素α复合,表明淋巴毒素β独立于淋巴毒素α的功能。可变剪接产生多种编码不同异构体的转录变异体。[由RefSeq,2008年7月提供]
