热休克反应是由细胞暴露在热和化学压力下引起的,通过激活HSFs(热休克因子)导致热休克诱导基因的表达增加。热休克因子结合蛋白1(HSBP1)是一种76个氨基酸的蛋白质,能与热休克因子1(HSF1)结合,HSF1是一种参与HS反应的转录因子。在HS反应中,HSF1经历从惰性非DNA结合单体到活性功能三聚体的构象转变。HSBP1是核定位的,与HSF1的活性三聚体状态相互作用,以负调控HSF1的DNA结合活性。在哺乳动物细胞中过表达HSBP1可抑制HSF1的转激活活性。在线虫中过表达HSBP1会对热和化学应激后的动物生存产生严重影响,这与HSBP1作为热休克反应负调控因子的作用一致。[由RefSeq,2008年7月提供]
