Located in several cellular components, including external side of plasma membrane; microvillus; and perikaryon. Colocalizes with apical part of cell and secretory granule. Used to study hepatocellular carcinoma. Biomarker of several diseases, including brain ischemia; hyperthyroidism; muscular atrophy; otitis media; and pancreatitis.
