Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of nitric-oxide synthase biosynthetic process; positive regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; and receptor signaling pathway via JAK-STAT. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to cytokine stimulus and cellular response to organic cyclic compound. Located in several cellular components, including axon; dendrite; and nucleus. Used to study pulmonary fibrosis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in breast carcinoma; immunodeficiency 31A; immunodeficiency 31B; immunodeficiency 31C; and prostate adenocarcinoma.
