Acts upstream of or within DNA methylation; negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in nucleus. Part of NuRD complex. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; early conceptus; genitourinary system; limb; and retina. Used to study systemic lupus erythematosus.
