Enables CCR1 chemokine receptor binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of macrophage apoptotic process and positive regulation of monocyte chemotaxis. Acts upstream of or within inflammatory response; positive regulation of epithelial cell proliferation; and response to tumor necrosis factor. Located in cytoplasm and extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; gonad; hemolymphoid system; late tubule; and retina. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including hepatitis B; hepatitis C; liver disease (multiple); pulmonary tuberculosis; and severe acute respiratory syndrome.
