Involved in epithelial cell differentiation and negative regulation of epithelial cell proliferation. Predicted to be located in cell surface and keratin filament. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; lower urinary tract; sensory organ; skin; and trachea. Used to study hereditary mucosal leukokeratosis.
