Located in clathrin-coated pit and photoreceptor inner segment. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; sensory organ; skin; and white fat. Used to study centronuclear myopathy; cystic kidney disease; and myopathy. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease dominant intermediate B; centronuclear myopathy 1; and lethal congenital contracture syndrome.
