Trichuriasis

Trichuriasis, also known as whipworm disease, is related to ascaris lumbricoides infection and irritable bowel syndrome, and has symptoms including abdominal pain, diarrhea and rectal prolapse. An important gene associated with Trichuriasis is IL13 (Interleukin 13), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Akt Signaling and PAK Pathway. The drugs Mebendazole and Piperazine have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include small intestine and colon.
