The coding sequence was inverted and flanked with a pair of loxP sites and a pair of lox2722 sites via homologous recombination. Decreased expression in hemizygous and homozygous mice was confirmed by qRT-PCR. Expression of Clnc5 or the four nearby miRNAs was not reduced. Cre-mediated recombination will invert the coding sequence and restore expression. (J:343467)
