An IRES-Cre was introduced between the coding sequence of exon 6 and the 3'UTR of the Ucp1 gene. To avoid disrupting the polyA signal of Ucp1 expression, a Neo cassette flanked by frt sites was inserted 300 bp downstream of the 3'UTR. (J:283206)
