Two LoxP sequences were inserted to flank a 2.5 kb region containing exons 5 and 6, including the C-terminal coding sequence and 3 UTR. An frt-flanked pgk-neo cassette was also inserted in front of the loxP sequence on the 3 side, and was subsequently removed via FLP-mediated recombination in the germline. Further Cre-mediated recombination in the germline removed the 2.5 kb region containing exons 5 and 6. (J:337268)
