An artificial intron containing one loxP site was inserted into the middle of the single exon along with an FRT-flanked neomycin selection cassette to form two separated parts and a second loxP site was inserted into the 3-UTR region of the gene via CRISPR/Cas9 technology. The neomycin selection cassette was removed via flp-mediated recombination. (J:337217, J:337007)
