CRISPR/Cas9 technology generated a histidine to lysine substitution at amino acid 353 (p.H353K) in exon 9. K353 is a residue at the core of the ACE2-RBD interaction in humans which has been shown to allow replication of the original SARS coronavirus in mouse cells. (J:335150)
